Atkinson High School student Hayley Olson was often the target of ridicule. Her classmates laughed at her because she didn’t wear ‘fancy clothes’.
The girl comes from a large family. Her parents have no way of dressing her fashionably. “I would often come home in tears. I told my parents I didn’t want to go to school anymore, I wanted to study at home,” Hayley recalls.
At school, Hayley became friends with Mariah. The girl decided to help her friend. She brought her a whole bag of clothes and shoes. “I was jumping and screaming with happiness,” Hailey recalls. “I felt happy the day I brought Hailey the bag of clothes and I almost cried,” Mariah shared.
After a story on television, adults wanted to help Hayley too. One medical clinic offered to help the girl with her dental work.
