AN 83-YEAR-OLD GRANDMOTHER PLAYED ONE OF THE LEADING ROLES AT A WEDDING

Brenna Clement was preparing for her wedding. The girl wanted her grandmother to play a special role during the celebration.

Brenna works as a nurse in the intensive care unit. “I was caring for a sick, elderly woman. She told me a story about being a florist at her grandson’s wedding. I had the idea to give my grandmother a role in the wedding ceremony.”

On Brenna’s wedding day, the 83-year-old flower grandmother found herself in the spotlight. The elderly woman was worried. All of her relatives cheered and smiled at her. As she walked up the aisle, the flower grandmother joyfully tossed flower petals into the air. A photographer captured this romantic moment.

“Grandpa was proud of Grandma. He told the photographer, ‘That’s my flower girl.’ She played the part perfectly. When Grandma threw the petals in the air, everyone applauded loudly,” Brenna said.

The wedding photos were posted on social media. Brenna hopes the photos convey the fun atmosphere of the wedding.

“I learned from my grandmother that life is too short to dwell on bad things. She used to say: “If it’s bad, that’s okay,” “Happiness is a choice.” She is my inspiration. I hope Grandma inspires you, too,” Brenna said.
