A little girl prays to God for her sick grandmother and hears a voice offering help – Story of the Day

When all her efforts to save her grandmother’s life failed, the girl wept before the church Crucifix, begging God for a miracle. Suddenly a voice was heard from behind her, offering help.

Janice hated arguing with her granddaughter Sadie about the importance of going to church. “Not again… Please come to church with me… it will make you feel better.”

Sadie had recently lost her parents in a car accident, and this sad incident undermined her faith in God.

“How will attending church change my life? Will my parents come back? Or will it change the fact that I am an orphan?” – she cried.

Sadie decided not to go to church for the rest of her life, but that day another tragedy forced her to do so and beg God to help her…

“Sadie, dear, you mustn’t talk like that. Remember that God will surely answer if you pray and ask diligently,” Janice advised as she left the house to go to church. Usually, she returned home within an hour, but on this day she did not return for a long time.

Sadie was crying alone at home, thinking of her parents, when a stranger called her and informed her that Janice had been accidentally hit by a car on her way home from church: “Yes, it is Sadie, her granddaughter. Which hospital? I’m on my way…..”

“Grandma? Doctor, can I come in? I want to see her. Please let me in!” shouted Sadie. But the nurse and doctor pulled her away and reassured her, forbidding her to enter the emergency room.

“Sadie?”

“Yes, I’m Sadie, her granddaughter.”

“Hi Sadie, we found your ID card in her handbag and that’s how we contacted you. What is your blood type?”

Sadie was shocked. “Rh factor positive.”

“Nurse, quickly check with the blood bank to see if they have a donor matching Mrs. Fletcher’s blood type.”

“What is it, Doctor? What happened to Grandma?”

“Sadie, your grandmother has lost a lot of blood and she urgently needs an AB negative blood type donor. This is a rare blood group. Please pray that we can find a donor fast enough to save your grandmother.”

This revelation shook Sadie to her core. She contacted all her friends and even the blood banks she knew, but no donor could be found.

“Why is this only happening to me?” – she cried.

“Sadie, don’t worry. We will do our best,” the doctor assured her and rushed off in search of a donor.

However, the girl did not give up hope. She found information on the internet and contacted all the available blood banks in the city.

“I’m sorry, but we don’t have a negative AB. We will put you on the waiting list, but you may have to wait a while as your number is 877,” informed the blood bank clerk Sadie called.

“Doctor, have you found a donor? Any progress?” asked Sadie, hurrying after the doctor.

Unfortunately, the doctor had no good news to share with Sadie. “We can only wait. We haven’t found a donor yet. Let’s wait for a miracle and pray.”

It was then that Sadie remembered her grandmother talking about prayers and faith. She left the hospital and ran to the church where Janice often went.

“Jesus, please save my grandmother… Please help me find someone with AB-negative blood type,” Sadie cried before the crucifix. “I’m so sorry and I promise to come to church with her. Please save her life. Please don’t take her away from me. She is all I have left. Please give me a sign that nothing will happen to her. Please, I want my grandmother back. Please help me. Show me that you are real.”

Sadie sobbed, tears soaking her clutched palms in prayer. She repeatedly prayed to God to save her grandmother, until a loud voice interrupted her, echoing down the empty corridor.

“What’s wrong, little one? Why are you crying so much? I heard you and I’m ready to help you.”

Frightened, Sadie turned and dropped to her knees, folding her arms, tears streaming from her eyes.

A priest stood in front of her, holding a Bible in his hands. He gently touched her head and assured her that he would help her.

“I am ready to give my blood to your grandmother… My AB is negative,” Father Francis said, sparking hope and faith in the 10-year-old’s eyes.

They arrived at the hospital just in time. Doctors had predicted that Janice would slip into a coma if a blood transfusion was not given in time.

“Thank you, Padre. I’ll never forget your help,” Sadie cried before Father Francis left.

“Don’t thank me, little one. Thank Jesus that He sent me there just in time to hear you!”

Sadie was relieved from her heart. She wiped away her tears and finally Janice came to her senses. She was discharged from the hospital two days later.

“Darling, I’m glad to be home, safe and sound,” Janice said as she left the hospital. “Are we going home now?”

“No, Grandma… not yet,” Sadie replied. “There’s still one place we haven’t visited yet.”

“What’s that?” – Janice asked curiously as two minutes later Sadie led her by the hand and pointed her finger at something.

“Here. We’re going to spend some time in church! God exists… he does exist… I also realized that if he takes something away from us, he always gives something back… he gave you back to me!”.

Janice couldn’t hold back tears of joy. Meanwhile, Father Francis smiled and withdrew with his Bible as he saw the figures of Janice and Sadie enter the church.
