Emma Claire Callaghan, a 14-year-old, receives a thoughtful reminder of her father’s love every day during lunchtime. Garth Callaghan, her father, has been writing notes on napkins for her for years, and it became his passion when Emma was in the third grade. However, in November of the previous year, he took it up a notch. Callaghan committed to writing 826 notes for Emma, one for every day until she graduates from high school. He was inspired by a social movement called “Because I Said I Would,” which aims to improve humanity through promises. But the notes are also significant to him for personal reasons. Some of his favorite notes are available for viewing below.
Despite the possibility of his own death, Garth has made a commitment to ensure that Emma receives a special note with her lunch every day of class until she completes high school. This is his promise to her, and he intends to keep it regardless of his circumstances.
As of now, Garth has finished writing 740 notes, leaving only 86 more to complete his commitment of 826 notes for Emma.
