She and her mother went outside to take a picture on the first day of the seventh year. Mills and her mother were outside taking photos near a tree when they were interrupted by an uninvited guest.
A number of snapshots had already been taken and everything looked beautiful. Mills’ mother then became aware of her son.
“It mixed so well that I looked closer and realized what was there,” Joy Mills, the girl’s mother, told The Dodo.
There was a snake lying on the tree trunk and looking straight into the eyes of the seventh grader as she smoothed it.
Read After: She took this photo of her daughter in the park and uploaded it to Facebook, but people were extremely worried.
Mills’ mother told her to come to her immediately, and she didn’t understand why at first.
Because her mother didn’t want to scare her, Mills didn’t discover the snake’s photobombing until she was safely far away from the tree.
She was unaware that she was sharing her joy with an unlikely companion.
“When she realized what was behind her, she was speechless,” Mills said. “We couldn’t believe it when we looked at the photos on my phone and how close he was, and we had no idea how close he was.”
Apparently the snake was jealous of all the attention Mills was getting and decided he needed some of his own.
Mills will have the best back-to-school photos (and fairy tale) in her class thanks to a friendly snake.
