An autistic boy builds the largest replica of the Titanic ever made with LEGO

LES Lego bricks are the world’s most famous building blocks, renowned for stimulating the creativity and imagination of players of all ages. Almost anything can be built with them, all you need are the right parts, the right project and a good dose of time and patience. Ingredients that little Brynjar Karl Bigisson had, when he decided to build the world’s largest replica of the Titanic. A “titanic” undertaking for the 10-year-old boy, a project thanks to which he not only gained notoriety but also overcame his personal battle with autism.
The world’s largest replica of the Titanic, 8 meters long and 1.5 meters high, was built by a 10-year-old boy from Reykjavik, Iceland, using 56,000 Lego bricks, after around 11 months of hard work. The boy, who is now 15, is called Brynjar Karl Bigisson and has become something of a celebrity for completing this gigantic work. He’s always had a passion for the famous bricks, and ever since he was 5 years old, Brynjar has been building things with Lego: assembly kits with instructions, product car projects, until he decided to build a huge version of the Titanic.
Of course, he had the help and support of his whole family: grandfather Ogmundsson, a professional engineer, carried out the project, while his mother Bjarney Ludviksdottir always supported him throughout the 11 months. Donations from family and friends enabled him to buy enough Lego bricks. For the time being, the Titanic is no longer in Iceland; it has left for the USA, where it is on display until the end of 2019 at the Titanic Museum AttractionThanks to this project, the boy has also been able to win his personal battle with autism, Brynjar has always struggled with this problem and his difficulty in communicating with others. At school, he was always marginalized and penalized in his grades to the point where he needed a teacher to support him. Since making his dream come true, Brynjar has improved at school, no longer needs help to study and has managed to integrate with his classmates!Today, the boy is no longer afraid to give interviews and share his experience with thousands of men who, like him, face the same problem, making his mother and his whole family even prouder of him!
