A high school student from Florida, Olivia Jones, was driving her car. When she stopped at a traffic light, she saw the female driver leaning low over the steering wheel.
“I thought she was texting because she was looking down. And then she started cramping,” Olivia recalled. The woman began to shake and the moving car in the flow of traffic became unmanageable.
She opened her car door, trying to warn the drivers. But nobody paid any attention to her. Olivia sharply reversed her car, pushing it into the woman’s car. A collision ensued. “I went to the car, took off my seat belt. I called 911,” the girl said.
When Olivia was asked if she was scared, she said, “Oh, yes. My legs were shaking. I was very nervous”.
The emergency service arrived within two minutes. The woman was given medical help. The girl now refers to the dent in the rear bumper as a ‘memory lump’.
