Who you know is just as important as what you know, or at least that’s what some people say. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it certainly seems to be true in the case of the raccoon.
According to the clip’s brief description on YouTube, the at least 5-year-old raccoon has been visiting the same house for a few years in search of food.
The owners of the house have many reasons to believe that the raccoon is at least partially blind, as they have repeatedly seen him bump into something.
However, that hasn’t stopped him from befriending two cats who are both his “fierce” bodyguards and accompany him wherever he goes. Impressed by the raccoon’s amazing social skills, the owners decided to release a video of a blind raccoon walking proudly with his entourage.
So, the most plausible explanation is that cats have just realized that whenever the raccoon is around, they have food, because the owners of the house are used to leaving food for him. But we prefer to believe that they do everything to help their friend in need.
