The surrogate mother gave birth to twins, but the biological parents abandoned the children

Usually surrogate parents are present at the birth, picking up their babies – but here it is unclear what was going on.

Maxim and Olga for a long time chose first a clinic for IVF, then a surrogate mother, and then our maternity home. The surrogate mother was put into the maternity hospital in advance – a caesarean section was planned, as the babies – and there were two of them – lay incorrectly.

The surrogate mum was very anxious before the caesarean – not for herself, but for the babies. The operation was a success and two healthy girls were born. But the biological parents could not be contacted – neither in the morning, nor after the operation.

Maxim appeared at the maternity hospital only the next day — and immediately went to the chief physician’s office. They talked about something and the newly-made father left without even asking about the children – which surprised us very much. Usually surrogate parents are present at childbirth, take their babies in their arms — and then it’s unclear what happened.

But when the head of the maternity hospital came out and told the nurse to transfer the twins to the ward for children whose parents refused — everything became clear. It turns out that the biological parents simply changed their minds about taking their children — they say they quarreled and filed for divorce. And neither father nor mother needed the children.

Strictly speaking, until certain documents are signed, they are not even the parents of these girls, so they did not even have to write a refusal.

But it had to be done by a surrogate mother. After listening, she silently turned around and left the office.

For more than two hours the woman sat silently in the ward, and then she got up and went to the children’s ward. To her children.

We discharged the babies as expected — on the fifth day after birth. The girls and their mother were taken by their father. Parents were not at all embarrassed by the fact that children have someone else’s genetic code.
