Pregnant woman saves neighbour from deadly danger

Sarah Maughan from Utah was four months pregnant when she saw flames in the window of a neighbouring house.

The woman got into her car and drove to the house where the fire was breaking out. As she approached, she started shouting and knocking on the door.

“I felt a strong fever and knocked on the door. A man opened the door, I said:

“Your house is on fire. He saw the burning garage and his mouth just dropped open in surprise. It turned out he was asleep. The fire had already come to the doorway, we ran,” Sarah recalls.

“I was just reacting. It’s probably not the best idea, since I’m pregnant. But you know, I’d hate to see a fire and know that I didn’t do anything and someone died,” Sarah said.

When asked why she put herself in danger to help someone, Sarah replied that she believed in karma and wished someone else would do the same for her family.

The neighbour was grateful to Sarah. “We just hugged each other,” Sarah recalled. She added that she just wanted people to start taking care of each other.

According to firefighters, numerous structures were damaged.
