Girl’s act of kindness has inspired online users

A blind man stood by the roadside trying to catch a taxi. Cars whizzed by. A girl came up to him and offered to help.

She called a taxi and waited with the man until it arrived. Passerby Ryan Hamilton took the picture and shared it on Facebook.

“It’s amazing to see the kindness in a world that the media portrays as so evil. Share with others, hope her kindness spreads,” he wrote.

As it turns out, the girl’s name is Casey Spelman. She is from Indiana and the man is Yousef Dale, an assistant prosecutor from Chicago.

“I didn’t pay much attention to the incident,” Casey said. “It was after a game at the stadium and it was pretty crowded. I figured it would take a long time for him to hail a taxi on his own.”

Users thanked the girl for her act of kindness and called the event a bright spot in hard times.

“It’s great to see acts of kindness in these times of hatred and lack of concern for others,” one person wrote on Facebook.

“I’m so glad there’s such an overwhelmingly positive response to this post!” – Casey wrote. “I’ve learned that people always see everything, even if you don’t think they’re looking. Take the time to be kind to others. I hope it has a positive impact on those around you,” she added.
