Concerned people rescued 90-year-olds from the fire

In the state of California, men were walking to work and saw a burning car on the road. There was an accident, and the car caught fire.

“We saw an elderly man stuck in his seatbelt, so we opened the door and unbuckled the belt. My mate Barry pulled him out of the car and carried him to the side of the road,” said Andre Leggett.

The driver said that his wife was left in the car. He was very worried. “We didn’t even realise right away that there was someone in the passenger seat. There was a lot of smoke in the car,” said Jeff Lucas.

Firemen soon arrived and extinguished the fire. A report from the fire brigade said that two passengers and a bystander were taken to hospital with burns. The fire spread to vegetation but was quickly extinguished.

As it turned out later, Ken Williamson, 92, and his 90-year-old wife Joan were in the car. Their lives were out of danger. The elderly couple’s children sought information about the random rescuers to thank them. Thanks to footage from a passer-by and social media, they were able to find them.
