Why did Grandpa learn to knit at the age of 86

Ed Moseley is a retired engineer. He lives in a nursing home in Ackworth, Georgia.

A few months ago, the elderly were asked to knit wool hats for premature babies. Ed didn’t know how, but wanted to help.

The daughter brought the necessary materials and instructions to her father. Grandpa started to learn how to knit. The first hat took Ed an hour to knit, then it went faster. He even began to teach others. Together they knitted 300 hats, 55 of which were Ed’s products. The hats were donated to the neonatal intensive care unit in Atlanta.

Knitting has become Ed’s hobby. Now he knits hats not only for babies, but also for relatives and friends. He doesn’t take any money when he takes orders – all he needs is the yarn.
