WHAT THE BOY CAME UP WITH TO HELP THE DOG GET OUT OF THE THICKET

During a short hike, a couple from Hawaii got lost in the woods. It was getting dark, the hikers had no water or food, and their cell phone was dead. To make matters worse, their dog, Smokey, had hurt its paws and couldn’t walk.

After several hours of wandering through the woods, the hikers met 12-year-old David King and his mother. “We asked if they needed help, and they said yes, and showed us the cuts on the dog’s paws,” the boy recalled.

At first the man carried the dog on his back, but it was very heavy, so he had to stop to rest. Then the boy suggested making a stretcher out of twigs and a shirt. “We were hesitant about this idea, we thought: how will the dog take it? But the dog happily climbed on the stretcher. We just carried it out,” said the boy’s mother.

Everyone got out of the thicket safely. Smokey has been cured and is feeling well. The boy says that when you go even on a small hike, you should be prepared: take water and food and study the route well. He is very glad he helped in a difficult situation.
