A nine-year-old American schoolboy watched a video on YouTube about charity. The story depicted people across the country donating money to shelters for the homeless. The video touched him so deeply that the boy decided to do something for them as well.
Nathan told his father that he wanted to help homeless people. In order to do that, he needed to withdraw his money from his bank account. At first, his father wanted to dissuade him. But then he thought, “If I discourage him, it would mean that I don’t want him to act selflessly.”
The father suggested that they help the homeless together. They then called the nearest homeless shelter. They were told it would be better to buy items. Nathan made a list of necessary items and groceries. Then the father and son withdrew the money from the bank and went to the store. After buying everything on the list, there was some money left. That’s when the boy decided to buy a cake and added it to the basket as well. Later, Nathan told his father that doing good deeds feels very rewarding.
