Fifth-grader Bella Berrelles from Gaithersberg decided to help her family after learning that her mother had lost her job. The girl became an entrepreneur at the age of 11.

Her mother, who worked in the pharmaceutical industry, helped her daughter create and test a recipe for a body scrub. It was called Bella Sweet Scrubs. “I make the scrub using sugar and other organic and natural ingredients,” explained Bella.

The girl sells her scrub through the Etsy website for $7-14 depending on the volume, or delivers it herself for an extra fee. She has also set up a Twitter account and shares how she has set up her business. Bella says she has taken more than 900 orders in a few weeks.

Bella is not new to the business, having previously sold handmade earrings. The girl not only uses the profits to help her family, she has also donated $100 to an organisation that provides food for families in need.
