It’s incredible how much he reminds me of Elvis… all the members of the jury turned around at the same time.

Nowadays, when you attend a talent competition, the stage is saturated with young artists hoping to succeed. But there is an issue that you may have noticed. The older generation is not represented as prominently.

However, now The Voice is taking it to the next level by creating a talent competition specifically and exclusively for seniors. To qualify for “The Voice Senior,” a contestant must be at least 60 years old.

Recently, the world was introduced to René Bishop, a 71-year-old man whose gentle and silky voice took the competition by storm when he unleashed a breathtaking rendition of “Unchained Melody.”

René’s voice is powerful yet tender, with a rare quality that is simply impossible to ignore. Then, he flawlessly hit that famous high note, and all the judges pressed their buttons. “Awestruck” is the best word to describe the judges’ faces as they turned around to catch a glimpse of the face behind this extraordinary talent.

His stage presence was phenomenal. From the first note to the last, the judges were clearly in awe of René’s vocal sound. I’m thrilled that this man finally has the opportunity to sing for the world.

Online, the response to this senior’s incredible performance has been phenomenal, and the live comments started pouring in immediately. “This guy has a voice as smooth as silk,” declared one fan. Another remarkable comment was, “I would have turned around much earlier. Fabulous voice… brought tears to my eyes. It’s incredible how much he resembles Elvis.”
