Artist turns boring buildings into mind-blowing 3D murals

The buildings and places shown below look like they’ve been hit hard by a tornado, but when you look closely, you’ll be very surprised. Artist John Pugh is world-renowned for creating incredible wall murals that create the illusion of a three-dimensional scene behind the wall on which they are painted. Pugh has been creating his murals since the late 1970s, and his particular style of murals has spawned a term known as “narrative illusionism.” Take a look at some of his incredible creations below:

It looks like there was an explosion and the ceiling is held up by columns.

Did a construction balloon go through this building?

It would be interesting to see what the whole building looks like, as the art is definitely eye-catching.

Wait, so that cat’s not real?

John Pugh definitely has talent, and it’s great to see him using it and also sharing it with the public.

It would have been a great mural in New Orleans.

This dog is definitely a little bit confused.

The shadows make it all look incredibly realistic.

The wall just peels off.

John Pugh really has a talent when it comes to 3D painting and narrative illusionism. It’s so amazing that he discovered this talent in himself and decided to share it with the public. It’s also great that businesses are allowing him to paint the side of their buildings instead of covering them with graffiti that no one wants to see.
