There are songs that uplift you and make you feel good, and for many, “Hallelujah” is one of them.
Over time, it has been covered by a wide variety of artists, but there is one particular performance that stands out.
In 2016, Kaylee Rogers took the stage with her classmates at her school in Northern Ireland. With a strong and powerful voice, she led the group in a Christmas rendition of “Hallelujah” that took the internet by storm.
However, there is much more to the performance than meets the eye.
You see, Kaylee is more than just a girl with an incredible singing talent. Some may be surprised to learn that she also struggles with autism and ADHD.
At the age of 10, Kaylee was very shy and didn’t speak much in class – but there was something about singing that brought her out of her shell.
The school principal explained to BBC Newsbeat, “She would be a very quiet little girl, but when she sings, she opens up.”
Kaylee and her classmates performed “Hallelujah” as part of their Christmas show. She was the lead singer with the choir in the background.
It’s a video that left many people reaching for a tissue.
Not only does she sing like an angel, but she does it with such confidence that you would never know about her struggles.
The performance also garnered countless comments from people who were moved by it. One YouTube user wrote:
“She has a better voice than 80% of today’s singers! Absolutely amazing.”
Another person commented:
“I cry every time I see this. I have 2 autistic boys, and you give me faith and strength for my boys. God bless you.”
