“She was at work when her boss called her urgently to his office.”

Some people really like the television show “Profit” on CNBC. In it, self-made millionaire Marcus Lemonis helps small businesses that aren’t doing well by giving them his own money. Marcus Lemonis has long understood the importance of employees being satisfied with their jobs and knowing that they are valued for what they do. His philosophy is to be fair and friendly to his employees.

This makes them care more about their work, which makes them more productive in the long run. Tami Forbes operates the Key West Key Lime Pie Company Store. Tami only makes about $500 a week, even though she does everything from marketing to stocking shelves. Tami also has two sets of 8-year-old twins and is pregnant with her third child. Tami is on her feet nine hours a day at this job, and to make ends meet she also works a second job.

After work, of course, she has to be a mom when she comes home. When Tami was about to go on maternity leave, she was worried about how she was going to pay her bills. “I’m going to need your help before you go. I have some things to do and you will be our leader here. But to give you peace of mind, I wanted to give you some money,” Marcus said.

Tami is then offered her full salary during her maternity leave, with the promise of a raise when she returns to work. “It means everything to know that I’m getting a salary that I can live on and save money at the same time… I’ve never experienced anything like this before,” she says. But Tami will enjoy it even more… Watch the video below
