These snakes are characterized by a strong effect of poison. With their poison, they can kill an adult healthy person in the shortest possible time. Nevertheless, the heroine of our story is incredibly lucky.
Paola was walking through the mountains, which are located in her village. She accidentally stepped on a snake. Ted, who was still a small puppy, quickly stood between the owner and the dangerous creature. He rushed to his owner to protect her from danger. The snake bit Ted right in the muzzle.
Paola tells: “Ted immediately began to squeak plaintively, crying for help. I grabbed him in my arms and rushed down the mountain. We delivered the puppy to the veterinary clinic. We managed to get there about 10 minutes after the bite. My dog is a real hero.”
Ted was hospitalized for 12 hours. He received a special antidote for snake bites, anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers.
All this time, while her dog was in danger. Paola was very worried.
“My dog saved my life. If it wasn’t for him, I would have been bitten by this snake. It is not known whether I would have survived or not,” says Paola.
