Visitors to the supermarket spotted a stray cat family – a mother cat and its two kittens hiding under the grocery trolleys.
Residents of the US state of North Carolina spotted a homeless feline family in the local supermarket. The mother cat was hiding with her two kittens under the food trolleys. The kittens were already teenagers – and apparently the family had been living like this for a long time. People immediately reported the kittens to the animal shelter.
Sparkle Cat Rescue responded to the request and came to pick up the cats on the same day. The mother cat was easy to lure – she trusted people. However, her kittens were shy and getting to them was not so easy. Volunteers used special humane traps to pick up the babies and take them to the car with their mother.
The same evening, the family was brought to the temporary care centre, fed, bathed and looked after. Mother cat was happy and relaxed, as the most important thing for her was that her babies were safe. The kittens were initially frightened of the new surroundings, but after the meal and all the procedures, they relaxed and understood that no one would hurt them here.
The kittens were six weeks old at the time. They were growing up active, playful and healthy. Their mother continued to look after them sensitively and watch their every move. Volunteers immediately noticed that the kittens are very attached to each other and do everything together – playing, eating, sleeping and running around the house.
After two months in temporary care, permanent owners were found for the brothers. A family fell in love with these beauties and took them both in. They are still looking for loving owners for their mummy. Thank you for the rescue!
