A traveler from China arrived at the American airport in San Francisco with a German shepherd dog. The man did not have the proper documents to bring the animal into the country, so he left the pet at the airport and flew on.
United Airlines employees have named a six-month-old puppy Polaris. The dog was placed in quarantine in Los Angeles. After four months, the dog was allowed to stay in the United States.
United staff picked up Polaris and put him in the San Francisco airport office. The dog had its own cot, treats and toys. United Airlines’ director of customer service said they wanted to find an owner for Polaris among the airline’s employees.
Pilot William Dale took over the role. He took the dog home. To celebrate the joyous occasion, a party was held at the San Francisco airport. William Dale said he was grateful to the United Airlines team, as their love and care made it easier for Polaris to adapt to its new environment.
