Size is not an obstacle to friendship! A huge German dog and a tiny Chihuahua puppy proved that. Their friendship began when Shirley Zindler, founder of Animal Rescue California, brought home baby Bianca.
The chihuahua girl, measuring only 12 centimeters and weighing less than a pound, was left alone after her mother died in childbirth.

Shelby, a 53-pound dog that the woman had adopted as a puppy almost three years ago, was blind, but naturally immediately sensed the presence of a new dog. While the owner fed Bianca from a bottle, Shelby sat peacefully nearby.

The huge dog is quite patient with his little friend, who has an explosive temperament. Sometimes it happens that the little one begins to bite Shelby. Then the dog slightly pushes his mate away.
“It’s just a unique couple,” Shirley says.
She’s never seen animals so different in personality and size manage to become friends.

Bianca is already waiting for a new home. So, unfortunately, the couple will soon have to be separated. But Shelby will not be left alone. She will become a mother to another doggie who needs care. Someone planted a whole bag of newborn babies on Shirley’s front porch.
“I think they’re both going to be fine. They’re like kids at summer camp – they spend some time together, but soon they’ll have to break up. I hope, though, that their friendship doesn’t end there, and that they can see each other.”
