The sheepdog was spotted by a fisherman in Moreton Bay, who pulled it out of the water and immediately contacted the coastguard.
This is a touching story and we wanted to share it with you.
Everything that happened is further proof that dogs are the most faithful and loyal of friends.
In Australia, a fisherman noticed a sheepdog trying to swim to shore. A box of fishing equipment was floating near the dog and a wetsuit could be seen in the distance. He helped the dog and started to call the coastguard.
It was clear that there had been a disaster: a boat had capsized somewhere. A whole team of rescuers gathered. The dog was brought to the shore, but he kept whimpering and plunging into the water.
The search lasted several hours and, thankfully, all went well – the man was found. He was holding on to the overturned boat as it slowly sank to the bottom.
The injured man said he lost control of the boat and the sudden movement threw him and the dog in different directions. But most of all, they were amazed that the dog had been able to swim for so long in search of help for its owner. And he, for his part, was desperately hoping that his pet would be all right.
It is worth noting that this is not the first known case of dogs being rescued, and this shepherd has joined the ranks of real-life heroes.
According to the rescuers, the dog swam for 11 hours to help his friend.
