Residents saw a stray dog near an old abandoned building with a pile of rubbish. It had been living there for a long time and was very afraid of people.
The shelter in the American city of St Louis received a call not long ago. A local resident reported seeing a stray dog outside an abandoned house who might be in need of help. When rescuers arrived at the said house, they expected to immediately see the dog there… but unfortunately, no one was there, no matter how hard they looked.
The dog was never found that day, but a rescue worker called Donna didn’t give up. She returned the next day and luckily saw the dog near that abandoned building. When she spotted it, the dog was immediately frightened and rushed in. It huddled among the rubble and planks, and trembled with fear.
“The dog was lying in the rubble, all shivering. Its hind paws were shaking from fear and the cold. It’s horrible to see them so scared of people,” Donna said. It was indeed getting cold outside, so the dog was found just in time. The hardship was over. The staff gently carried the dog to the car with the help of a plastic cage.
The dog was then taken to the shelter and examined. It turned out the dog was about 7 years old. Its health was fine, but it was still afraid of everything around it and was very nervous. The dog was given the name Habenero and started to be looked after. The dog was walked and given love and affection, which it could not believe at first, but later it got used to it.
They are now looking for a new home for Habenero. This good-hearted dog deserves happiness and unconditional love. Be happy, beautiful girl!
