The dog guarded the yard and the house, which until recently belonged to its family, and waited for the owners to return soon to take it away. Time passed, but the house remained empty and the dog was left alone.
A family from Florida made the decision to relocate. A few weeks ago, they packed their bags and left, leaving the dog in the yard of an empty house. The dog remained sitting by the fence for weeks, keeping watch over its owners and guarding the house from strangers. It spent its days in the same spot, eagerly waiting for the owners to return, but they never came back to retrieve him.
The dog started losing weight and grew increasingly sad. People living nearby noticed the animal’s suffering and reported it to the staff at the local rescue center. Gloria came to assist the dog. She tried to lure the dog with treats, but he refused to leave the yard, even to eat, despite clearly being famished for quite some time.
Gloria came to the house for several days and fed the dog, the only way she could win the animal’s trust and lure him out of the yard. The dog ended up in a shelter, where he was given a new name – Salvator. At first, he was reserved and shy, but then he met volunteers and other animals. Salvator turned out to be a gentle, kind, and sociable dog. The staff at the refuge couldn’t understand why this dog with such a wonderful character had been thrown out on the street by his former owners.
While Salvator resides in the shelter, the staff and volunteers have already begun searching for a new family for him, as they are convinced that such a charming dog will certainly not be left without owners who will genuinely love him.
