Passers-by happened to notice this dog in the forest. It was sitting quietly on a dog bed, with a closed packet of food and a bowl of water next to it.
Hank was just eight months old when people accidentally found him in the woods in Florida, USA. He was sitting quietly on an old dog bed, with a bowl of water and food next to him – sad to say that this boy had been left here to fend for himself… The doggie didn’t even move from his cot, as if waiting for the return of his owners, who never returned… Seeing the passers-by approaching, Hank looked at them hopefully.
Kind passers-by immediately decided to help. They contacted the local shelter, Humans and Animals United, whose staff immediately went there. They expected that the loneliness of the dog might have made him aggressive and too timid… But as soon as they approached Hank, all worries vanished. “He was just full of love. We saw it from the moment we approached him. A charming creature,” recalls the shelter volunteer, Rosa.
After the rescue, the dog was taken to the vet. Unfortunately, the doctors discovered that his leg was broken, and they determined that it had happened about a fortnight ago. So in all that time Hank never moved from the dog bed he was left on – he was just in pain to move around. Hank required surgery, but the brave dog persevered.
Rosa, the volunteer who rescued Hank, has taken him into her care. They have already started looking for owners for him, and many applications have come in since the advertisement was published. But the staff are still choosing – they want Hank to live with the best and most suitable family for him. Be happy, handsome boy!
