Pregnant cat with strabismus picked up scraps on the street

Passersby noticed a pregnant cat on the street that clearly needed love and support. Despite the fact that the mother-to-be lived on the street, she turned out to be very kind, sensitive, and gentle.

Upon seeing a pregnant cat with squinting eyes on the street, the citizens of Brisbane, Australia quickly notified the nearby Best Friends Felines shelter. By the time volunteers reached the scene, the feline had already given birth to two kittens. The mother and her offspring were promptly transported to the shelter, where they adjusted comfortably.

The mother cat was very kind and friendly to her guardians. She knew – most importantly – that her kittens were safe. The family spent the first night quietly, but the following day the guardian was in for a surprise. Walking into the room, she saw there were already three kittens. It turned out that during the night mommy had given birth to one more, the last baby.
Now the whole family was together. The mother turned out to be extremely attentive and responsive in her care. A little later, two small orphaned kittens who had been left without a mother were brought to the shelter. It was decided to introduce the kittens to this mama cat. Although the kittens were about four weeks old – more than her one-week-old babies – the volunteers decided to try.
The mother cat, named Jewel, immediately began licking the new kittens as if they were her own. The kittens immediately began to drink her milk, which they needed, and Jewel gladly allowed them to do so. Then, thanks to this care, the kittens quickly began to gain weight and recover.
Soon both Jewel’s kittens and her “adopted” babies were growing up, learning more about everything around them and becoming more interested. The more active the kittens became, the more time the mother cat began to spend for herself and in the company of her guardian. She often asked for affection, but also did not forget to keep an eye on the kittens.
As the kittens grew older, permanent owners were found for all five of them. Later it was Jewel’s turn – for this special mommy, they also found the best home, where she is happy and where she is treated like a princess. Thank you, people!
