The woman saw a stray dog who immediately rushed toward her as if trying to say something. Then it suddenly led the woman away.
An Oklahoma resident spotted a stray dog in a parking lot. It turned out to be very friendly and kind – it immediately let the woman pet it and was extremely affectionate. But it turned out the dog was asking the woman to follow it…
The dog led the woman away, as if wanting to show her something. And so it did. It led her to a “hiding place” under a broken tree, where the dog was hiding its most precious possession: its little puppies.
When the woman saw the puppies, she immediately noticed that there were a lot of them. She counted 16 puppies! “We have a lot of stray dogs in the state. But that many at one time is unbelievable,” the woman said. By then, she had contacted local animal rescuers who had come to pick up the family.
Rescuers determined that the 16 pups were from three different litters. It turns out the dog had simply taken custody of someone else’s babies – it had sensitively cared for and protected them all the while they were growing up. Then rescuers had another problem – where to put the 17 dogs when most shelters are overcrowded?
Volunteers made posts on social media and asked for help from other shelters. As a result, the puppies and their mother dog, Dolly, were placed in four shelters. Many of the puppies were immediately taken to the shelter – when the babies are old enough, they will find owners for them.
They are already looking for permanent owners for the heroic “mother” Dolly. Volunteers fell in love with this adorable dog, and are confident that she will find a home soon. Thank you for the rescue!
