After the family gave this dog back to the shelter, the dog had a hard time getting used to the walls of the shelter. It believed that now the owners would walk through the doors of the shelter and take it home. But alas, that did not happen.
The life of a dog named Jane was not easy from the very beginning. She was found on the streets of Louisiana, USA, and picked up almost immediately after she was born, along with her stray mother dog. They ended up at a local shelter, where caring staff began caring for the dogs. Jane grew up to be a healthy and active little girl.
After a few months, the doggie had grown enough, and it was time to look for owners for her. The first family took Jane in 2017. They fell in love with her, and the dog had been living with them all along – happily, as it seemed to the staff. But things weren’t so rosy.
It was 2022 when Jane was unexpectedly brought back to the shelter. The owners decided to give her back to the shelter on the grounds that Jane didn’t get along with the small dogs they had several. Well, the dog had to put up with it. But getting used to the walls of the shelter all over again after a warm home was very difficult for her…
The dog became sad and didn’t seem to be interested in anything. The shelter staff did everything they could to cheer Jane up and show her their love. Everyone gave her affection, and she got a little stuffed friend. She spent all her time with her favorite sloth toy – and never went anywhere without it.
Time passed, and no family was found for Jane. The poor dog had given up hope for a miracle after spending a year in a shelter. But a miracle happened. A couple got interested and decided to take her in! So Jane got a new home. The couple had no other animals, so she became their only pet.
