A mother cat took someone else’s abandoned kitten as its own

There are no other’s children. In the animal world, such stories always touch the soul. This mother cat, for example, took in someone else’s kitten on an equal footing with its own babies…

This baby, named Buffy, was born on the street in New York City to a stray cat. Buffy was the only survivor of all the kittens, and unfortunately, its mother did not accept it and abandoned it. But the baby got into good hands just in time – it was found and brought to the local shelter.

The staff at Rescue Right welcomed Buffy and immediately got to work on its health. They did everything they could to keep the frail, frail little girl on its feet. They fed it by the hour and gave it supportive therapy. But at such a tender age, the kitty still needed its mother.

At about the same time, a pregnant cat named Lola found itself in the shelter and soon gave birth. A week after its rescue, it gave birth to eight healthy kittens and began caring for them sensitively. Seeing what an attentive and caring mother it was, the shelter staff decided – maybe we should try introducing it at Buffy…

The acquaintance succeeded! Mommy’s instincts immediately kicked in when it saw baby Buffy. “Lola immediately accepted it, and let it drink its milk along with the other kittens. From that moment on, we had peace of mind for Buffy,” says the feline guardian.

Even Lola’s kittens happily accepted the new member of the family – even though it was different in color and slightly larger than the others. Growing up, the kittens began to play all together, and their mother constantly looks after them. Now the whole big family lives in a temporary care place, but soon permanent owners will be found for each of them.
