A man was driving his car when he suddenly noticed something strange beside the road. He decided to get out and look – it turned out to be a cage with 20 abandoned puppies. He immediately decided to help the poor things.
A resident of the English county of Essex was driving along the road near a residential area and noticed a strange abandoned cage right by the road. He decided to stop. As he approached it, the man was shocked – inside were 20 little puppies, which could not be looked at without pity. The poor, sad-eyed pups were huddled and stressed inside the cage.
The man immediately contacted the local RSPCA rescue center, and the pups were picked up by staff. “When he told us how many puppies were in the cage, I couldn’t believe it and thought it was a mistake. They were all scared and shy when we brought them to the shelter,” the center volunteer said.
Veterinarians determined that the pups were from different parents, and they ranged in age from 6 to 8 weeks old. They were unable to determine the breed – but the puppies were definitely a poodle mix. The puppies weighed less than normal for their age, but despite that, many of them were in excellent health. Volunteers also speculated that the puppies had been dumped this way from the puppy farm.
Families are already being found for the puppies, and in the meantime, volunteers are taking care of them. Many have already “booked” their puppies. We wish these babies find the best owners!
