A kind dog helps a cat raise kittens

The dog decided to take on the role of big brother and caring nurse, and began caring for the kittens. They were birthed by a stray cat that the dog’s owner brought in.

Two months ago, a shelter in Hamilton, Canada, received a report of a pregnant cat roaming the streets picking up scraps. Locals wanted to help her and contacted the shelter to take her in. At first, the cat wouldn’t let go…

However, the volunteers managed to persuade the kitten and she was eventually taken to a shelter. They checked that the mother-to-be was in good health and sent her to a temporary care place. She was given the name Banksy. It took a while for her to get used to everything new.

But thanks to her guardians, Banksy felt safe and relaxed. A few days later she gave birth to seven babies, all healthy and active. And Banksy immediately took over her duties as a mother – she was very attentive to the cubs and kept an eye on them.

When the kittens got a little older, the guardian decided to introduce them and their mummy to her pet dog, Nood, who loves to coddle the little ones. He immediately took an interest and started taking care of the kittens like an older brother.

The kittens have fallen in love with Nood in return – they are constantly by his side and even sleep right on top of him. The good-natured dog treats the babies with patience and sensitivity, and it’s a wonderfully touching sight! And mother cat, seeing such an attentive guardian, is calm for her babies, and rests more.

Soon volunteers will start looking for permanent homes for the kittens, just like for their mummy. In the meantime – they live in love and care, including from their kind furry nanny!
