A dog named Reggie, rescued by the owners from the shelter, has been deaf since birth. It had never heard barking, but somehow it had invented its own way of barking.

The owners from the USA took a dog named Reggie from the shelter. It has been deaf since birth, and has never heard a dog bark, but reproduces it in its own way. The owners recently noticed for the first time how Reggie barks in a special way and filmed it on video.
Perhaps, watching other dogs and following their instincts, Reggie remembered the movement that dogs make when barking – and decided to repeat it. It made the movements characteristic of barking, while almost not making a sound.
“At first I didn’t understand what it was trying to do. I thought it was coughing or trying to sneeze, but when it continued, while looking at me and my reaction, I realized that it was trying to bark like that,” says the owner.
The owner praised the pet for the excellent “woof”, and since then Reggie has often barks in an interesting way. It is proud of itself and knows for sure that this way it can attract attention and charm everyone around. Look at the video with the dog:
