A deer with a bucket on its head tossed about in the middle of the lake

Russell Cogan, a resident of the USA, spotted a deer swimming in the middle of a lake with a paint can on its head. The terribly frightened poor thing could not see anything and swam in circles, not knowing how to get out and find rescue. Luckily, the man immediately realised the animal was in trouble.

He took off his shoes and rushed into the freezing water to save the deer. The animal swam further and further away, however, and the man realised that he could not do it alone – especially in such cold water…

He noticed a boat nearby and started shouting and beckoning for it. Luckily, he was heard and the boat owner helped Russell aboard. Together with Russell’s friend, they went after the deer, which kept circling restlessly in the water.

When they approached the deer, it started to move away from them, frightened even more. Russell did not want to remove the jar harshly – it might have damaged the deer’s snout. After a short chase and several attempts, he still managed to get the can off!

Afterwards, the men helped the frightened deer to get to shore and released it. It didn’t hesitate to jump out of the water and run home into the forest. Many thanks to the kind man, who was not afraid to save the poor thing!
